Sun and Moon

With the solstice, the lunastice and a full moon over the week, I was convinced it was time for the Fae to enter this realm. Whilst I saw no fairies, we did manage a day of dance and enchantment in the old world. Yes, we celebrated the turning of the seasons at the Falkland Palace and Gardens Renaissance Fayre.

It's been a turbulent week for Hubby with work, and July doesn't look set to get any better. So we decided to make the most of the nice weather and a day off. And it was a good day - the advert did encourage people to dress up and, whilst nothing like the high fantasy Renfaires of America, a good number of folk had arrived to join in the fun. Of course we dressed up, although Missy had managed to eat something that didn't agree with her, so she was left au natural as I didn't want to risk stressing her.

The fayre was well organised, it opened at 11, we walked Missy around the orchard and then the events started at 12. With meet the kings and queen (Mary, of Scots, of course), live music and dance, a falconry display and beautiful gardens to explore, we didn't really stop!

Missy, Queen of Biscuits:

I joined in on a dancing demo and, honestly, tiring as the day was, it was absolutely what my soul needed. A day out for the hubby and I, Missy being fussed over and, most importantly, just having fun and forgetting about things for a bit.

We saw friends Friday (movie night, I was finally strong armed into Killer Klowns from Outer Space) and Sunday we had dinner with our other friends and the two wee ones.

Needless to say, we're all very tired! Updates might be a bit funny next month, but I'll keep you posted on our adventures!

  1. Missy is indeed Queen of the Biscuits! Glad you had a good day out, one both fun and helped heal the soul a little.
