What a Week-Endor

Firstly, happy Star Wars day - May the Fourth be with you! Doesn't Missy make the cutest Ewok? Talk about a last minute craft - the hood was technically my day 4 project on my crafting every day challenge (see my daily stories @missdaisysewing for progress) as I sewed those ears on with my morning cup of tea so it would be ready before the days shenanigans.

Ironically, Missy did not spend Star Wars day as an Ewok, but rather in her Hufflepuff robes as we attended the inaugural Enchanted Market in Falkirk.

It was a last minute thing with my mum, something to get us both out the house (and to keep those post holiday blues at bay) and I honestly did not expect to have as much fun as I did. It was a typical market with all the products being wizard and witch themed - I knew they were having people professionally dressing up, and there was kids activities and a fancy dress contest, which is all things I enjoy watching, but I did not realise the almost party atmosphere the place was going to have. In her little robe, Missy was almost a celebrity and we were constantly stopped for compliments and people saying hi to her. As I explained to my mum about Missy, despite her diminutive size (she's only knee high, but does look bigger in photos) people see her rottie colours and avoid her (unless they are true dog people, who know rotties are actually big babies), so dressing her up at events is my way of sublimative messaging that she's very friendly and would love for you to say hello.
My mum enjoyed herself too - it wasn't too long or taxing a day, we got to hang out and she got to be the proud grand-doggy-mother taking the photos. She has also never heard me describe Missys favourite treats of pig noses and fluffy bunny ears as "dead things" before, and she was absolutely tickled pink by this as Missy patiently waited as I picked out her favourite bits off of said stall.

Whilst Missy gatecrashed the fancy dress competition photo opp, she didn't place. The family who won absolutely deserved it - I had mistaken them for the aforementioned professional actors!

Then today. A day months in the making. Star Wars day at Duncarron Medieval Village. My Hera cosplay got her debut and.... was immediately overshadowed by Missy in her Ewok hood! I tell a small lie, I did get a lot of compliments - apparently the  gate staff even radio'd ahead to let them know "Hera" was coming so that we had all the legion waiting for us at the gates.

There was axe throwing and archery, always a good laugh, but mostly it was chatting to other nerds and just enjoying the day. We went with our equally needy friend and we all had a great time. 10/10 would recommend!

Oh, and for those wondering, the green didn't stain too badly! No one will be any the wiser tomorrow!

I'll leave you on a favourite photo from the day, which I think captures Missys feelings about it all...
